The installed length of my Chamberlain garage door opener
Before beginning installation, make sure you have adequate room to mount your Chamberlain garage door opener. Using the chart below, find the total length of the type of garage door opener you are installing. Then, measure outward from the header wall towards the back of the garage using the measurement obtained from the chart. The space should be free of support beams, poles, or other obstructions.
The rail length includes the U bracket except for models HD220, HD220C, PD220, PD222. These models do not have a U bracket.

Rail lengths for extension kits:
8 foot extension kit: The 8 foot extension kit is a single rail piece. A longer 37.5" rail piece replaces the header section only.
10 foot extension kit: The 10 foot extension is 2 pieces. A longer 37.5" rail piece replaces the header section and a 49.5" rail piece replaces one section of the rail.
